The municipality of Barban is located in Istria southwest of the Raša River and northwest of the Raša Bay where there is an exit to the sea, near the eastern coast of Istria, 20-30 km away from towns on the coast, such as Pula, Poreč, Rovinj, Labin and Rabac.
Today, Barban is known for the knightly game of the Ring Race which has traditionally been held in August, since 1976.
