The town of Pazin is located in the centre of the Istrian peninsula, on a plateau surrounded by surrounding hills forming a basin.
The old part of the town is situated above the steep cliffs below which is the abyss of the Pazinčica river, thus forming a geological phenomenon known as Pazinska jama.
From the old part, the town expanded to the west, i.e. to the hinterland of the Pazin cave.
The river Pazinčica in its course creates the famous waterfall Zarečki roof whose pond attracts young Pazinci in the summer months, who find a place for refreshment there.
Due to its geographical position, Pazin is characterized by a continental climate with hot summers.
Due to its position in central Istria, the winters in Pazin are cold with occasional fog, and thanks to the basin in which it is located, it has high heat in the summer.
Due to its position in the center of Istria, Pazin is connected by road to all towns in Istria, and it is through it that the Istrian Ypsilon passes, which connects it with Rijeka and the rest of Croatia through the Učka Tunnel.
