From the nearby town of Gornji Karin it is separated only by the Karišnica River, which springs from the eponymous cave and is just 2.4 km from its mouth. In a pleasant atmosphere and true nature, Donji Karin offers a stunning view of the Velebit massif and the Zrmanja canyon. Immediately nearby is a medieval Franciscan monastery.
