Hum is a small town in every sense of the word, namely Hum is the smallest town in the world! It is located in central Istria on a hill, above the source of the Mirna River. It is located not far from Buzet and Roč. The towns of Hum and Roč have been connected by a common history and culture since ancient times, and more recently by the famous Glagolitic Alley. There is an interesting legend associated with Hum that says that it was created quite by accident. The giants who built the surrounding towns in the Mirna River valley decided to build a miniature town with the few remaining stones. Time has not changed this medieval town much, and the small stone streets still seem to speak the old language of knightly tales.
