Pican was certainly inhabited in distant prehistory. The oldest parts of the Histrian fortress were located on Kalvarija hill (13), north of the present-day settlement, and it is assumed that the Celtic tribe of Secusa lived there. In Roman times, probably in the same strategically well-chosen place, there was a military stronghold and the settlement of Petina.
In the vicinity of Pićno, more precisely in Most Raša, there is this agricultural land that can be useful for planting fruit trees, raising livestock and similar crops.
