Cere (Sveti Matej), a village 5.5 km southeast. from the municipal center of Žminj (45°40̍′N; 13°57′E; 362m above sea level); 132 st. (2001). It is located on the county road Žminj-Barban, and consists of several smaller settlements (Badnjevari, Barišini, Bošci, Čubani, Dohrani, Feštini, Gajmani, Haluzi, Hrljini, Jušani, Kinkeli, Pohmani, Rojnići, Žavori, Žgombini).
The inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture (vines, grain) and some entrepreneurship (bakery in Balići, etc.). Until 1842, the settlement was part of the Žminj parish, then it became a chaplaincy and in 1952 a separate parish. Parish Church of St. Matthew and St. Matthias the Apostle is a one-nave building built in 1630 on the site of the previous church. It has a lopic (1698), a horseshoe with one bell on the facade and a choir above the entrance.
Agricultural land in the vicinity of Cer, sloping, and with direct access from the road, suitable for farming, animal husbandry, olive growing or just enjoying the peace and quiet of the village.
