Krnica was inhabited in Roman times as evidenced by numerous archaeological finds, among which are the altars dedicated to the histrian deity Malesocus (v, Autochthonous cults in Istria).
According to some sources, Kernica is a former Faveria, built 2 km uphill, above the port of Karnički Porat, for fear of sea invaders.
The Roman road Via Flanatica, (Flanina, rim.
Plomin) road that led from Pula to Liburnia.
The Romans built several buildings nearby, including a fort whose main task was to monitor the road.

a year in a cave near Krnica, a chest full of gold and bronze coins from the Roman era was found.
Not far from Krnica there is this large agricultural land which consists mostly of beautiful forest, and partly of pasture and arable land.
In addition to logging wood, part of the land was once fertile ploughland, and can be used for planting various agricultural crops.
Those who do not want to deal with one or the other can use the land to enjoy and walk around and escape from city life.
