Kaprije is a small island of 7.11 square kilometers, located about 15 km southwest of Šibenik.
It is named after the Mediterranean caper plant, whose buds serve as a spice.
The only settlement on the island is also called Kaprije, and it is surrounded by hills of which the highest is Velika Glavica (129 m).
There are no cars on the island, and it can only be reached by sea, or by ferry or hydrofoil from Šibenik (or by your own boat, which you have somewhere to tie).
Kaprije is mostly uninhabited, so here you will really enjoy privacy, peace and quiet.
There are about 20 bays on the island, the most famous of which is St. Luke’s Harbour.
